NAXX Rogue Report — 2026-04-06
Summary
A full breakdown of the HYDRA rogue lineup in Naxxramas on April 6 — what one Sub rogue contributed in toolkit, Expose Armor coverage, and the crit loop across 12+ boss encounters, alongside four poison-spec rogues. Includes a newly identified Expose Armor overwrite problem that cost the raid an estimated ~340,000 damage across five boss fights.

What Sub Rogue Brings to Your Raid
Sub is not played for personal DPS. The rogue accepts an 8–10% personal damage loss to run this toolkit. The payoff is every physical damage dealer in the raid hits harder for the entire clear — across all bosses, all trash, the whole night.
| Ability | Who Benefits | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Expose Armor | Full raid | -3,075 armor — deeper than Sunder Armor's -2,600. ~3–5% more physical DPS raid-wide |
| Mark for Death | Full group | +30% Attack Power for 8 sec every pull |
| Shadow of Death | Full raid | Absorbs 50% of all raid damage on boss for 6 sec, detonates as physical |
| Tricks of the Trade | Full group | Stacking crit bonus sustained by 5 CP finishers |
| Honor Among Thieves | Self | Group crits give +5 energy — feeds the rotation loop |
| Preparation | Self | Resets all cooldowns instantly |
How the Crit Loop Works
| Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | Garrote opener — Tricks of the Trade stack 1, 100% guaranteed |
| 2 | 5 CP finisher — Tricks of the Trade stack 2, group at max crit bonus |
| 3 | Group crits trigger Honor Among Thieves — +5 energy per crit |
| 4 | More energy — more Hemorrhage — more finishers |
| 5 | Finishers keep ToT stacks active — back to step 2 |
Sepi had this loop running all night through 12+ boss encounters — 1,372 Honor Among Thieves procs and 133 personal Tricks of the Trade stacks over the full clear.
Expose Armor — Every Boss, Every Wing
72 applications across the clear. Every one is a 30-second window where the entire raid's physical DPS is amplified. Sepi maintained coverage on every boss in the instance and hit key trash where it mattered.
| Target | Applications |
|---|---|
| Gluth | 12 |
| Patchwerk | 10 |
| Loatheb | 9 |
| Thaddius | 6 |
| Grobbulus | 6 |
| Heigan the Unclean | 6 |
| Grand Widow Faerlina | 4 |
| Maexxna | 4 |
| Noth the Plaguebringer | 4 |
| Anub'Rekhan | 3 |
| Feugen | 3 |
| Trash | 3 |
| Instructor Razuvious | 2 |
| Total | 72 |
Gluth and Patchwerk at the top is no accident — both are long, sustained tank-and-spank fights where keeping Expose Armor rolling has the biggest compounding impact on raid DPS.
Sepi — Subtlety
Full toolkit maintained across the entire instance. Expose Armor on every boss from Anub'Rekhan through Instructor Razuvious. Shadow of Death deployed on the biggest bosses of the night. The crit loop held from the first pull to the last.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Hemorrhage casts | 1,096 |
| Expose Armor applications | 72 |
| Mark for Death uses | 23 |
| Shadow of Death uses | 7 — 28,904 total damage |
| Preparation uses | 10 |
| Tricks of the Trade stacks | 133 |
| Honor Among Thieves procs | 1,372 |
| CC (Cheap Shot / Kidney Shot) | 18 total |
| Flask of the Titans | Yes |
| Consumables | 59 |
| Deaths | 3 |
Flask of the Titans, Elixir of the Mongoose, Elixir of Giants, and Elixir of Fortitude all stacked. 10 Major Healing Potions used — Sepi was fighting through some rough moments and kept the toolkit running throughout. Shadow of Death on Thaddius was the standout detonation at 7,882 damage.
| Boss | Damage |
|---|---|
| Anub'Rekhan | 2,816 |
| Maexxna | 3,976 |
| Patchwerk (x2) | 3,579 + 3,253 |
| Thaddius | 7,882 |
| Loatheb (x2) | 4,381 + 3,017 |
| Total | 28,904 |
Boomdj — Custom Poison Spec
Running Noxious Assault and Envenom — a high-frequency poison build that generates sustained output through constant poison application and proc fishing. Highest consumable count in the rogue group by a wide margin.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Noxious Assault casts | 670 |
| Instant Poison VI procs | 439 |
| Thistle Tea used | 18 |
| Potion of Quickness | 11 |
| Juju Flurry | 24 |
| Goblin Sapper Charges | 9 |
| Flask of the Titans | Yes |
| Consumables | 116 |
| Deaths | 8 |
116 consumables is the highest of any rogue this clear and one of the highest in the entire raid. The preparation is there. The death count of 8 is on the high side for someone this well-stocked — something to track going forward.
Elrogal — Custom Poison Spec
Running Noxious Assault and Instant Poison VI — output volume is consistent with the other poison rogues in the group, but two things stand out this clear.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Noxious Assault casts | 619 |
| Instant Poison VI procs | 539 |
| CC (Cheap Shot / Kidney Shot) | 11 total across 10 targets |
| Flask | None |
| Consumables | 48 |
| Deaths | 10 |
No flask this clear — Elrogal is the only rogue in the group without one. In a long instance like Naxxramas, a flask covers the entire raid and the absence is felt. 10 deaths is also the highest of the four rogues. Cheap Shot logged on Maexxna, Patchwerk, Grobbulus, and Instructor Razuvious shows positioning awareness, but dying 10 times in the same clear tells a different story. Both are things to fix before the next one.
Pussinbooger — Custom Poison Build
The highest Noxious Assault volume of any rogue this clear. Double-flasked. The poison build is dialled in and the numbers show it.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Noxious Assault casts | 821 |
| Instant Poison VI procs | 599 |
| Flask of the Titans | Yes (x2) |
| Juju Flurry | 12 |
| Potion of Quickness | 9 |
| Consumables | 50 |
| Deaths | 6 |
821 Noxious Assault is the highest in the rogue group. Double-flasked for a long clear. The cleanest execution of the three poison rogues this night.
Kckr — Custom Poison Spec
711 Noxious Assault casts across a full clear. The CC output is the highest of any rogue this night — 28 total, including 5 Kick interrupts that nobody else in the group registered. Kckr was doing work that does not show up in a damage meter.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Noxious Assault casts | 711 |
| Instant Poison VI procs | 437 |
| Cheap Shot | 12 |
| Kidney Shot | 11 |
| Kick (interrupts) | 5 |
| Total CC | 28 |
| Elixir of the Mongoose | 4 |
| Elixir of Giants | 4 |
| Winterfall Firewater | 6 |
| Flask of the Titans | None |
| Stat food | None |
| Deaths | 12 |
The CC numbers are genuinely impressive — 5 Kick interrupts and 23 stuns across the entire instance. Two things to address before the next clear: no flask, no stat food, and 12 deaths is the highest of any rogue this night. Get the prep sorted and this is a very complete package.
Matsuu — Late Arrival
Joined mid-raid at the Thaddius wing. Stats reflect roughly half a clear.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Instant Poison VI procs | 237 |
| Elixir of the Mongoose | 2 |
| Flask of the Titans | None |
| Deaths | 6 |
Different spec to the rest of the group — running Backstab and Sinister Strike rather than Noxious Assault. No flask and thin prep across the half-clear. Worth a full run next time to get a proper read.
🔇 Interrupts
Out of the entire 33-player raid, only one player registered a successful interrupt: Whora with 5, all landing on Shadow Bolt Volley from Naxxramas Acolytes on trash. Every tank attempted interrupts via Pummel and Shield Bash — zero landed. Morow's 339 Earth Shocks give strong interrupt potential; none connected on boss targets this run. Something to build on.
What the Sub Rogue Added to This Clear
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Expose Armor applications across 12 bosses and trash | 72 |
| Mark for Death uses — +30% group Attack Power windows | 23 |
| Shadow of Death damage across 7 detonations | 28,904 |
| Tricks of the Trade stacks — group crit bonus running all clear | 133 |
| Honor Among Thieves procs — crit energy loop sustained all night | 1,372 |
Every physical damage dealer in this raid hit harder because of Sepi — warriors, hunters, feral druids, enhancement shamans, and poison rogues all benefit directly from the armor reduction and crit amplification. Three Noxious Assault rogues on top of that means physical DPS output was compounding from every angle. That is both specs working exactly as intended.
⚠️ Expose Armor vs. Sunder Armor — The Overwrite Problem
We brought a Sub Rogue this run with Expose Armor and 2/2 Improved Expose Armor — that is -3,075 armor off the boss, deeper than five stacks of Sunder Armor (-2,600). The raid should be running EA on every boss fight.
The problem: Expose Armor and Sunder Armor share the same debuff slot. Every Sunder cast after EA lands wipes the deeper debuff and replaces it with the weaker one.
| Boss | EA Overwrites | EA Uptime |
|---|---|---|
| Patchwerk | 6 | ~75% |
| Grobbulus | 8 | ~70% |
| Gluth | 5 | ~80% |
| Thaddius | 7 | ~65% |
| Loatheb | ~19 | ~25% |
Across those five fights, EA was broken for roughly 365 seconds total. With a melee-heavy roster and approximately 930 physical DPS lost per second during broken windows, the raid left around ~340,000 damage on the floor — about half of the lowest DPS player's entire output for the night.
Confirmed in the combat log. Loatheb is the worst example — EA was being wiped within 2–3 seconds of landing, every application:
18:26:40— Loatheb gains Expose Armor18:26:42— Howitzers casts Sunder Armor (2.8 sec later — EA gone)18:26:44— Griselva casts Sunder Armor18:26:44— Howitzers casts Sunder Armor again
Fix: Once the Sub Rogue lands EA, warriors drop Sunder and shift to Heroic Strike and Shield Slam for threat. One callout in raid chat — "EA up" — is all it takes.
