Wipe Events Identified in Combat Log

  • 03:08 — Full Raid Wipe: Entire 33-player roster died within 35 seconds between Faerlina kill and Maexxna. Likely a bad pull on the path to Maexxna — Web Wrap cascade or mismanaged trash.
  • 03:13 — Partial Wipe: Second large death cluster near Maexxna (Whora, Zurug, Lepota, Borrtus, Bambow) — suggests a second chaotic attempt or repositioning failure.
  • 03:50 — Full Raid Wipe (Heigan): Classic slime eruption / dance phase failure on attempt 1. Entire raid wiped within ~1 minute. Killed cleanly on attempt 2 nine minutes later.

Anniema at 175 PW:Shields across the raid is outstanding. That volume of proactive mitigation is a meaningful force multiplier — preventing damage that healers would otherwise need to heal through.

What Went Well

  • Spider Wing cleared (3/3): Anub went down cleanly in 15 minutes. Faerlina was managed despite repeated Mind Controls on Holypriesty. Maexxna required two attempts but the team recovered and executed on the third — showing resilience.
  • Plague Wing cleared (3/3) — the standout result of the night: Full Plague Wing in a single session is excellent. Noth had clean add management. Heigan attempt 2 was a clean kill after a wipe, demonstrating the team could adapt in real time. Loatheb Spore management was well-coordinated.
  • Abomination Wing progress (3/4): Patchwerk is a pure DPS race with zero room for dead players — killing it demonstrates the raid has the throughput. Grobbulus was clean. Gluth requires Zombie Chow kiting discipline — getting that kill reflects solid coordination.
  • Fear Ward usage was excellent: Anniema (14 Fear Wards) and Holypriesty (12 Fear Wards) actively protected tanks from fear effects throughout the raid. This is exactly how priest utility should be used in Naxx and directly saved attempts.
  • Shaman totem coverage was robust: Zogrug (103 totems), Costodio (64), Nemex (41) maintained outstanding Tremor and cleansing totem uptime — a critical backbone in Naxx where disease and fear mechanics are pervasive.
  • Anniema's shielding output was exceptional: 175 Power Word: Shields is a heroic number. Proactive mitigation at that volume reduces healer stress across the board and is a major reason Loatheb and other high-damage fights stayed controlled.
  • Top performers raised the floor: Boomdj (149 consumables), Bambow (129), Lepota (100 with Stratholme Holy Waters), Meltyougood (86), and Boda (79 with 8 Rage Potions) set the standard for raid preparation. These players came to win.
  • Dispel coverage was multi-layered: Chauncey (39), Fieldwalker (39), Anniema (34), and Zogrug (28) led a comprehensive debuff removal operation. Naxx's heavy poison and disease load was actively countered.
  • Healsforblow had the fewest deaths in the raid (3): A clean mechanics awareness record that proves surviving Naxx is achievable when players are alert and positioned correctly.

What Needs to Improve

1. Death Count Is Far Too High (238 Total)

For a 9-boss clear, 238 deaths is excessive. This isn't a player count issue — it's a mechanics discipline issue. Four players hit 12 deaths each and one hit 11. That means some raiders died more than once per boss on average across the entire raid. Specific callouts:

  • Borrtus (12 deaths): Also the worst-prepared player in the raid (6 total consumables). No flask, no food. This combination is unacceptable in Naxx. This needs to be a mandatory conversation before next lockout.
  • Toddlerman (11 deaths, no flask): High deaths combined with bare-minimum consumables. Both need to improve simultaneously.
  • Boomdj (12 deaths): Impressive consumable investment (149 — highest in raid) but 12 deaths suggests the consumables are being used to survive mistakes rather than prevent them. Mechanics awareness needs to catch up to preparation level.
  • Motguts and Nemex (12 deaths each): These are repeating deaths on known mechanics. Review positioning logs before next raid.

2. Five Players Raided Without a Flask

Naxxramas is the hardest raid in Classic. Flask compliance should be 100%. The five players who showed up without a flask are listed in the consumables section above. Pallorina (5 total consumables) and Borrtus (6 total consumables) are the two most egregious cases. Flasks are not optional in Naxx — they are a base expectation.

3. Weapon Enhancements Missing for Multiple Melee

Nemex, Pussinbooger, Blockparty, Morow, Karstakavio, and Pallorina all lacked proper weapon enhancements. This is passive, persistent damage or threat that costs nothing to apply once you have the materials. There is no excuse to skip it in progression content.

4. Maexxna Required Three Attempts

Two full wipes at 03:08 and 03:13 before the Maexxna kill indicates the transition into the fight and Web Wrap spiderling phase are causing coordination breakdowns. The entire raid died within seconds both times — this is not a DPS problem, it is a positioning and awareness problem. Study the Maexxna Web Wrap pattern and designate specific players to handle spiderlings before each pull.

5. Heigan Dance Needs to Be Cleaner

A full raid wipe on Heigan attempt 1 at 03:50 is survivable as a learning moment — and to the team's credit, attempt 2 at 03:59 was clean. But the goal going forward is for the first attempt to be the only attempt. Every Heigan wipe is ~10 minutes of recovery time. Designate a leader to call eruption phases and ensure anyone who has wiped to the dance practices the timing before the next raid night.

6. Thaddius Not Reached — Time Management in Abomination Wing

The ~51-minute gap between the Loatheb kill and the Patchwerk pull is significant. Tightening trash pulls in the Abomination Wing — and avoiding the deaths that occurred at 04:15–04:21 — will reclaim meaningful time. Thaddius requires everyone to be alive and on the correct polarity. With the current death patterns, even reaching him cleanly will be a challenge. Make it a goal to get a Thaddius attempt before the next clear ends.

7. Zero CC from Many DPS Players

A large portion of the roster contributed 0 crowd control actions. In Naxxramas where adds frequently appear alongside bosses (Faerlina worshippers, Maexxna spiderlings, Gluth Zombie Chow), CC and interrupts from every capable player accelerate kills and prevent wipes. Every DPS player with an interrupt, stun, or slow should be actively using it on appropriate targets.
